Q. Where are the books?

Most books are shelved on the first and second floors of the Library. A book's classmark indicates where it is shelved, and you can find this by searching the library catalogue. Books with a classmark between 000-699 are shelved on the first floor, and 700-999 are shelved on the second floor.

In the example below, the classmark is 306.4812 BES and you should find this book on the first floor.

A smaller number of books are in the Reserve Stack (for which you need to go the Library Help Desk during staffed hours) and we have extensive collections in our Special Collections and Textile Collection which can only be consulted during Special Collections opening hours.
